I have reflashed a ton of "custom tuned" by local tuners flashes for customers not happy In the flash tune software, the maps for 4C8-8591A-60, having increased number of modules that are more suited to my requirements so I would to try and use that as the base. Your local guy will likely charge you more and not put in as much work I do for the part throttle so even though it is custom tuned to your bike the results in driveability wont be as good. I have a 4C8-8591A-40 ECU and plan on using Flash Tune ECU to do some mapping. If you remember correctly, back in 1998 when the R1s were introduced, Ivan pioneered his jet kit which was by far better than dynojet or any other jet kit available. They must be some options other than a yec ecu. Hi guys, I have been meaning to post a review on the forum regarding my ECU flash at Ivans Performance in Rockland County, NY. I just want my stock ecu flashed, running a motty autotune / datalogger. The result is great throttle response in all conditions at all throttle positions. 04-06 R1 ECU Flash Options The only option I can find is Ivans flash but it needs a power commander which is lameo. Then I finish it on my dyno to tune for best power. This is the best way to get the part throttle openings tuned. When i develop a flash I don't just dyno tune a customers bike and sell that as my flash, I data log bikes with the different set ups on the road in real world riding conditions. What makes my flash better then my competition is I actually owned an fz09 from 2014-last year. IMHO this is a potentially dangerous issue, missing a shift on track in a pack of riders is not fun!! :frown2:įor this reason, I have eliminated the connectors and soldered the connections - and it works great. Thanks for the recommendations and supporting a forum sponsor ! 2009 - 2011 2011 - 2012 2013 - 2016 Daytona Moto 2 765. So if you have this kit fitted and you experience rough/inconsistent downshifts and non-operative quick-shifts, you should check the integrity of your connectors first. So it looks like a problem with FTECU's quality control. The kit comes with these 2 fittings as part of the replacement wiring (the 2 white connectors in the photo). ![]() The connections to the female end of both fittings were good. On both connectors the wires had not been crimped in the male fittings and had vibrated out. With the help of my buddy, we traced the fault to the two connectors that come with the kit. However, first the quick-shifter failed and then the auto-blipper became inconsistent. On my test ride it worked perfectly for ~35 miles. Sometimes it would stall after initial start. (dont really recall when it started as its been years) The colder it was outside, the longer it took to start, and the slower it idled on initial start. ![]() This also involves replacing the OEM quick-shift sensor. That said, I did start to experience a cold-start issue as gradual onset following maybe roughly 40 or 50,000 miles. I just had an FTECU auto-blipper installed on my 2017 R1M.
